Evelyn Spence has received fellowships from the MacDowell Colony, Western Michigan University's Prague Summer Program, the Vermont Studio Center, and Aspen Summer Words. A former editor at Backpacker and Skiing magazines, her work has appeared in Outside, Men's Journal, Women's Health, and Runner's World—and she's the author of a guidebook about Colorado mountain towns. She holds an MFA in fiction from Brooklyn College and a BA in art history from Williams College. She's currently chipping away at her first novel.
