John Malkemes has an MFA in Poetry from Columbia University dated 1980. After completing his degree, he set aside writing to pursue a career in technology and continue his love affair with New York City. In recent years he has turned by degrees to relearning the tools of the trade and to writing narrative fiction. John has participated in writing workshops with Peter Selgin who has (with his students) provided immeasurable assistance and encouragement in this process.
